The End of Fatima
A While Longer
could be subtitled “The End of Fatima”. In its pages, the mysteries of the Fatima apparition, the most important event in Salvation History since
the times of the Apostles, are revealed. And the controversial issue of an alleged "fourth secret of Fatima" is resolved, too.
The book’s cover depicts the third part of the secret of Fatima and its title
comes from what Blessed Mary said to Lucia at Fatima on June 13, 1917:
"I will take Francisco and Jacinta [to Heaven] soon, but you must remain a while longer."
Lucia died in 2005, more than 87 years later.
At Fatima Our Lady promised, "In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph." The Fatima
apparition ended with the Miracle of the Sun, and Paul VI said of that miracle,"It was eschatological in the sense that it was like a repetition
or an annunciation of a scene at the end of time… ." On the anniversary of Fatima on May 13, 2010, Pope Benedict prayed to Blessed Mary for
her triumph to come by 2017, the centenary of the Fatima apparition.
Signs
It is oft repeated that Jesus said no one knows the day and hour of His return except the Father.
But this is not accurate because it is not complete, making it perhaps the greatest example of proof texting in the Bible. In the very same passage
Jesus also said there would be signs indicating His return is at hand: "But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because
your redemption is at hand." He also listed events that would signal His return. So we cannot know the exact day or hour, but we can and
will know the general season of His return.
One sign is the Gospel will have been preached throughout the world, and that milestone was reached early in the
twentieth century. Another sign is Jerusalem – it will once again be under the control of the Jewish people. That happened in 1967 when for the first
time in over 2000 years the Jews regained possession of the holy city. Other signs have also been fulfilled.
Medjugorje
From major private revelations of the twentieth century there are hints that not only are we are in the season of the end,
we are nearing the end of that season. Reportedly there is an ongoing apparition of Blessed Mary in Europe at Medjugorje. There, Our Lady alludes to
upcoming moments in Salvation History. She said when events associated with the apparition unfold, Satan's power in the world will be destroyed.
Theologically, this only happens at the end of the age, because the wheat and chaff will exist side by side until the end, until the Final Harvest.
After hundreds of apparitions spanning nearly 2,000 years, Our Lady pointedly says this is her
last apparition. Medjugorje visionary Ivanka says she has ten secrets about the last chapters in the history of the planet.
The six seers report they will witness the events foretold by Blessed Mary – that they will happen in their lifetimes (they are in their 40s). When asked
if the events, called the secrets, will unfold soon, Ivanka says they will unfold sooner than many think.
Notably, Blessed Mary has said, "What I have started at Fatima I will finish at Medjugorje." Thus the conclusion of the Medjugorje apparition
will mark the end of Fatima, the end of an amazing sequence of events of the twentieth century through today that began in 1917 at Fatima, Portugal.
Garabandal
At an earlier alleged apparition in the 1960s in Garabandal, Spain, Blessed Mary said there will be a
Warning given to everyone in the world, followed by a great Miracle. Seer Conchita said that when we see the Warning we'll know we have opened up the end of time.
Joey Lomangino was told he would regain his sight when the Miracle occurs. Joey is now in his 80s, so the time draws close. Also, Blessed Mary said there
would be four popes after John XXIII, but she did not say what comes after the fourth. Pope Benedict XVI is the fourth. And Our Lady also said that three popes after
John XXIII it would be the "end of the times but not the end of the world." The third pope after John XXIII was Pope John
Paul II.
Saint Faustina
Earlier still, in the 1930s, both Jesus and Blessed Mary appeared to Sister (now Saint) Faustina. Blessed Mary told Faustina that her writings on Divine Mercy
are to "prepare the world for the Second Coming of Him who will come, not as a merciful Savior, but as a just Judge. … Determined is the day of justice, the
day of divine wrath. The angels tremble before it. Speak to souls about this great Mercy while it is still the time for granting mercy."
(Diary 635)
Jesus said to Faustina, "You will prepare the world for My Final
Coming."(Diary 429) And He said, “Tell souls
about this great mercy of Mine, because the awful day, the day of My justice, is near."(Diary 965)
As of the year 2000 when Faustina was canonized and the devotions of Divine Mercy were approved,
the devotion has surged and is considered the fastest growing Catholic devotion, with over 100 million followers today. Its time has arrived.
This Special Time
Before he became Pope, Karol Cardinal Wojtyla said, "We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation
humanity has gone through. I do not think that wide circles of the American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this
fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel."
Alfred H. Kingon, former US Ambassador to the European Union, speaking at a
conference on Medjugorje concluded, "we are approaching not just another important turning in the road but the
most critical point in human history. Ladies and gentlemen, as incredible as it sounds, all history has led to this
moment in time.”
Our Lady of Medjugorje tells us that it is urgent for us to return to God now, and
she implores us, "Pray to understand the signs of the times.
This is a special time." It seems this special time, though, is coming to an end. There is now just a while longer.
In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. Our Lady of Fatima
